Object Identifier AI

Object Identifier AI requests access to your device's camera solely to photograph objects you choose to scan. The app does not:

• Access the camera in the background
• Record video
• Access your photo library or gallery
• Upload images to our own servers

Images are captured on demand (when you press the scan button), transmitted directly to the AI provider you have selected, and then discarded. A copy is saved locally on your device as part of your scan history, which you can delete at any time from within the app.

When you scan an object, the image and a text prompt are sent to the AI provider you have configured. You choose which provider to use in the app's settings. Each provider has its own privacy policy governing how they process data:

We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of your chosen provider. Object Identifier AI acts as a client: it sends your image to the provider's API and displays the response. We have no control over how providers process, store, or use that data on their end.

Your API key is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to us.

All app data is stored locally on your device using the operating system's secure storage mechanisms:

• Scan history — saved in an on-device database (Hive). Includes the scanned image file, object name, price estimate, purpose, and facts.
• App preferences — country selection, chosen AI provider, selected model, and API keys are saved in the device's secure shared preferences.

No data is uploaded to any server operated by us. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. The only data transmission that occurs is:

• Images and prompts sent to the AI provider API you have chosen — governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.

We do not share any information with advertisers, analytics platforms, or any other third party.

Object Identifier AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at any time:

• Delete individual scans — swipe to delete in the History screen.
• Clear all history — available in the History screen settings.
• Remove API keys — clear the key field in Settings and save.
• Full deletion — uninstall the app to remove all data permanently.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
